Dorothy Stephens lived in Kenya with her husband and three children from 1957 to 1959. A former teacher and a freelance writer whose work has appeared in national magazines and newspapers, she co-authored the book Discovering Marblehead. She was a finalist in the 1997 Bakeless Creative Nonfiction competition and a semi-finalist in the 2006 Summer Literary Seminars.
She and her husband live in Marblehead, Massachusetts where her favorite form of exercise is riding her bike along the ocean.
